Controlling postpartum bleeding
Homeopathy can be utilised throughout pregnancy, it’s safe for both mum and bub and is helpful during preconception, pregnancy, labour and postpartum. It can also support the fertility of both men and women when planning for a pregnancy.
In this case a bleeding protocol was used successfully during postpartum.
My client was nearing the end of her second pregnancy and was planning a second home birth supported by her husband and doula. After the safe arrival of her son during her first home birth she experienced some minor postpartum bleeding and wanted to be prepared in case the same was to occur with bub number two.
We met and discussed her plans and spoke about the possibility of postpartum bleeding. I explained that a simple to follow protocol can be utilised in the event that she was to experience bleeding and I explained how the protocol was to be followed.
The remedies were then prepared and dropped off to the client a few weeks before due date.
A few weeks later I was contacted by the client who thanked me and homeopathy for the assistance and support the protocol provided as it was able to be used effectively and in a timely manner to control the bleeding she encountered.
Remedy focus:
Cinnamonum: Effective in cases of haemorrhage when given in homeopathic potency or in cases of post-partum haemorrhage the bark of the cinnamon can be chewed on whilst in labour.
Ipecacuanha: Helpful in cases of haemorrhage after childbirth with bright red blood. Patients often feel nauseated and weak.
Progesterone: Acts to stabilise uterine lining and sooth contractions.
